Get ready for the weekend blast – this TR3A is rearing to go!
 
1957 saw the introduction of the ‘TR3A’ (though not officially called that at the time) that saw changes to the now full width front grill, exterior door handles a lockable boot and now previously optional full tool kit, becoming standard equipment. 1959 saw the optional 2138cc engine being made available.
 
Mechanically the TR3A remained largely the same with the 1991cc inline 4 cylinder production around 100hp mated to a 4 speed manual gear box with overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears being an optional extra. Steering, suspension, chassis and class leading (at the time) disk brakes remained the same. 
 
This Signal Red Triumph TR3A was purchased in Adelaide by the previous owner and was fully rebuilt in 2003 from a completely unassembled car. It is said to be a matching numbers vehicle with overdrive fitted. Though an older restoration, it still presents in good usable condition, ready to drive!
 
The owner built the Triumph as a usable classic car to blast along the road on weekends and as such gave it the following enhancements for greater performance and driving pleasure:

The Triumph is a hoot to drive with its raughty exhaust note and zippy handling – excellent for the weekend racer!
