Both elegant and functional, this beautiful series one E-Type combines all of Jaguar’s famous attributes into an elegant package ready to be taken to the open road.
Regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever created, the Jaguar E-Type set a new standard of elegance and performance when it was launched at the Geneva Motor show in 1961. Needless to say, demand well exceeded supply for some considerable time. It was capable of a genuine 150mph and introduced various mechanical components that gave the E-Type sporting and comfort prowess over its competitors.
The original E-Type was introduced as a two-seater coupe and roadster with a 3.8 litre engine producing around 265hp. The series 1 underwent subtle improvements over the following years such as deepened floor pans, visual changes to the interior and enlargement of the XK engine to 4.2 litres.
The car we have here today was fully repainted in 2000 in Brisbane in the original (we believe) Old English White and black leather interior. During the restoration, the E-Type was converted to RHD and in 2008 it was given an interior refurbishment with all new black leather upholstery which still presents in as new condition. No other records of previous ownership are present however does retain a receipt book nearly 2 inches thick for all work done to the Jaguar since 1999.
This stunning Jaguar represents a great opportunity to obtain a stunning E-type that would be worth considerably more if it was Australian delivered. It comes with balance of QLD registration and RWC (if sold in QLD). Note that the QLD rego plate sticker on the bonnet is removable without a trace.
