Destined for the South African market, the Fairmont GT was essentially a Falcon GT in knocked down kit form. The Fairmont GT body and engine was actually made on the same assembly line as its Australian Falcon GT brother then shipped over to Africa for painting and final assembly. The differences between the two? Not many. Both GT’s were endowed with a 351 4V Cleveland V8, 4 speed top load gearbox or FMX T-Bar Auto and the bullet proof 9 inch LSD. Only minor differences came down to the GT striping incorporating a Rhinoceros, interior featuring a KPH speedo and seat trim and door cards being Futura style. Other than those minor differences, at its heart the Fairmont GT and Falcon GT were more alike than not.  
 
This Fairmont GT presents in fantastic condition with gleaming white paint over black interior and black decals. Featuring it’s original (matching numbers) 351 Cleveland V8 and 4 speed top loader gearbox, this Fairmont is a thrill to drive on the open road. Put your foot down, and this car comes to life with a deep roar. The Fairmont underwent a light restoration a few years ago including refurbished interior, new REV 100 Classic series rims, repaint and engine rebuild before being imported into Australia; it is now fully registered for the road awaiting its next owner to enjoy.
